7.5 hours of hiking alone gives one's mind a lot of time to race. The crazy ideas bouncing around in my head on the Routeburn Track...
...must delay my flight from Christchurch to Auckland by a couple of days. Need to make time to check out Dunedin and the grad schools at University of Otago.
...hike the PCT next summer? Hmmm...
...wonder where EJ is right now. Crazy girl.
...there really is no word that rhymes with orange.
...I should learn to play the harp (harmonica) this summer. Maybe my buddy Weddell would give me some lessons.
...pizza or a burger in Te Anau? Probably burger.
...can't think of the words to "You Can't Resist it"? Will I be back in Seattle in time to catch Lyle Lovett on the Pier?
...how the hell does one go about getting ordained online? Were those two serious?
...I wonder if mom can teach me to use a sewing machine this summer?
...at this pace I'll finish at 5:30. Shit... that's going to be a tough hitch.

Hey Tim - Keep bloggin dude! I love reading your blog! I've been reading it pretty religously since being unemployed. Sounds like you're having the time of your life.
-Phil
ps: Mike I see that you beat me to being first :-)
Tim,
I have really been enjoying your blog, so I definitely want in on the tramp. I'll see you on the trail. Cheers,
Graham
P.S. She was old enough
To know better
And she was strong enough
To be true
And she was hard enough
To know whether
He was smart enough
To know what to do
And you can't resist it
When it happens to you
No you can't resist it
When it happens to you
And you can tell your story
And you can swear it's true
But you can save your lying
For some other fool
And you can't resist it
When it happens to you
No you can't resist it
When it happens to you
She was old enough
To know better
And she was strong enough
To be true
And she was hard enough
To know whether
He was smart enough
To know what to do
And you can't resist it
When it happens to you
No you can't resist it
When it happens to you
And you can't resist it
When it happens to you
No you can't resist it
When it happens to you
Well, if you come across any fruit, preferably limes, you can pelt them at yourself and pretend that it was me :) Or you can ponder geographical locations with me, you know, like Belgium perhaps! Or we can discuss issues to take up with our landlord upon your arrival home. Whatever our conversation, I hope it puts a smile on your face!! Happy hiking and return home safe young man!
Hola Tim--
So I must break it to you... they cancelled the series at the pier. Major bummer, but maybe something else cool shall pop up. So don't hurry back for that!
Anyway, that sad news out there, Hi! Amazing pictures and stories! And yours are true! I am writing a little story that has to do with five children who attend the Monarch-Free School of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and go on a wayward field trip to a gopher reserve. Think up a nice plot twist for me while you're out there tramping today!
Yes, 'tis sad but true about the summer nights series. But hopefully Lyle will oblige us at some other venue and my cowboy hat can make its obligatory appearance.
Anyway, my voice may not be as creative as the others in your head, but I'd love to be there in spirit too. And you'd better not spend all of your time thinking of "work requests" you can slip under my bedroom door. :) Keep bloggin', it's fun to hear of your exploits...
http://www.ulc.org/?destination=ordination And yes they are still serious.
Good God! You guys made my day! I'm starting the Kepler Track this morning, and I'm dragging you all along with me.
Mike... you win first prize, I'll let you hold the map.
Phil... great to hear from you. Enjoy your unemployment!
Graham... thanks for the lyrics... "Sweet as" is what they'd say in NZ.
PT Roommie... NZ has great limes... watch out!
Natty... funny shit bud. Thanks for the update.
Jess... will definitely brainstorm some plot twists. Great to hear from you!
LS Roommie... sweet Galapagos pics.
Ranna... dude, so great to hear from you. Will email soon.
